5 REASONS TO EAT MORE AVOCADO

Contrary to popular belief, avocado’s are actually considered a “fruit” rather than vegetable.
Avocados offer a creamy texture and can be added to both sweet and savoury dishes. Not only
do they offer delicious flavour, but they are loaded with nutrients and healthy fats. Chances are,
the avocados you purchase from your grocery store or fruit market are a product from Mexico.

Why Avocados:
When I speak to my Nutrition clients, I often use this metaphor: treat your body the way you
would a fancy sports car! In other words, fuel your body with top notch fuel in order for it to
perform optimally. Our bodies require 3 types of macro nutrients that make up that ‘fuel’ for us to
function: healthy fat, protein, and carbs. Don’t be fooled by the F word…healthy FAT is
ESSENTIAL! Avocados offer high quality healthy fat, with low levels of cholesterol. Healthy fat in
the body is responsible for healthy skin, hormones, brain function, and more! Are you officially
obsessed? Avoca-duh!

I first started my avocado journey with staples like guacamole and avocado toast, but I’ve
honestly reached a point where I enjoy it with most meals! Avocados are perfect for any time of
the day whether it’s a breakfast staple, lunch, diner, snacks and even desserts and drinks. They are staple in my diet and I enjoy
1⁄4-1⁄2 an avocado every single day.

Mediterranean Bowl:
1. 1⁄4- 1⁄2 Avocado from Mexico
2. Israeli Salad
3. 1 soft boiled egg

Israeli Salad Ingredients:
1/2 cup chopped cucumber
1 small tomato, chopped
1⁄4 cup parsley, chopped
squeeze of fresh lemon juice

* feel free to enjoy with a dollop of hummus and slice of toast!
